License and activation

A Pro license is activated per device by signing in to the account that owns it.

Activation

Buy a license on the site first. It is linked to the account you pay with, so create that account beforehand and use it at checkout.

In the app, activation lives under Settings → Account: it opens your browser, you sign in there and pick the licence to use on this device, and the browser hands the result back to the app. From then on the device shows which plan and account it is licensed under and how long the licence runs, and it can re-check that against the licence server at any time.

If you reinstall the app or move to a new computer, sign in to the same account again — the licence is there.

How many devices

A Pro licence can be active on several devices at the same time. The pricing page states how many.

The devices may run different operating systems: one licence covers macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu.

To free a slot for a new device, release the old one — either on that device under Settings → Account, or from your account pages, which also list your licences and devices. Activation fails while every slot is taken.
